Man arrested after pursuit with police

A man was arrested after a pursuit with police in Greenwood.

Just after 10 p.m. Wednesday, a Greenwood police officer stopped a vehicle near U.S. 31 and Fry Road and found that the driver had a warrant. The officer also smelled marijuana in the vehicle, according to the report.

The driver, Marcus Grays, 37, of Indianapolis, became agitated with the officer, saying he had no reason to stop him, and then drove away, the report said.

Officers began chasing Grays on Fry Road and then north on Madison Avenue before Grays stopped. Grays got out of the vehicle and was arrested, the report said. Police found marijuana inside the vehicle, the report said.

Grays, 10506 Edgewood Ave., was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement and dealing marijuana and a warrant for failure to appear in court.

He was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was released on $2,500 bond.
