STAFFORD, Virginia — A Stafford County man will serve more than a dozen years in prison for his role in the 2007 slaying of another man.

Stuart Lee Sullivan Jr. was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of Jason Shane Plaster. The Free Lance-Star ( ) reports that the 50-year-old Sullivan was sentenced Monday in Stafford Circuit Court to 12 years and nine months in prison.

Plaster's remains were found in March 2013 buried on property owned by Dennis Paul Benzie in White Oak. Benzie is awaiting sentencing on drug charges.

Co-defendant William Joseph Hughes was convicted of first-degree murder. He's serving a 27-year-old sentence.
