Man dies of injuries from crash involving motorcycle and 2 cars on New York Thruway

TUXEDO, New York — State police say a man has died of injuries caused by a collision on the Thruway involving a motorcycle and two cars.

Troopers say 37-year-old Jason Vanterpool of Yonkers was riding his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle north on the Thruway in Tuxedo around 3 p.m. Tuesday when he hit the back of a Chevrolet Trailblazer. The bike continued on and hit the back of a 2016 Subaru.

Vanterpool was thrown from the motorcycle by the second impact.

Vanterpool was flown to Westchester Medical Center with head and leg injuries. Police say he died at the hospital.

The driver of the Trailblazer was evaluated at a hospital and the other driver wasn't injured.
