CASPER, Wyoming — The Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville now has columbarium interment available.

The native stone covered structures lie directly east of the recently remodeled Lt. Col. Tom Walsh Chapel. Each of the 400 columbarium niches can hold an eligible veteran and their dependents.

Bench areas conceal additional columbarium base areas which can be expanded to hold an additional 400 niches.

Funding for the columbarium was provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affair State Cemetery Grant program.

Expanded parking and additional cemetery work for the columbarium were provided by funds through the Wyoming governor and Legislature.

The cemetery operates as part of the Wyoming Veterans Commission, a sub-agency of the Wyoming Military Department.
