EASTON, Pennsylvania — A television station reports a child has died after being hit by a car on an eastern Pennsylvania road.
Authorities tell WFMZ-TV (http://bit.ly/1MgTJWn ) a 9-year-old boy was struck about 6:30 p.m. Friday on a Hanover Township road in Northampton County and the car left the scene. A county coroner says the child died at a hospital.
Police say the boy was with two teenagers when they crossed the street on the way to a Wawa. Police say the boy was leaving the store and was crossing the street when he may have dropped some candy, turned back and was hit.
Authorities were looking for a silver Honda Civic or Accord with front end damage.
The Northampton County Sheriff's Office provided no further details.
