FREEHOLD, New Jersey — A teenage boy who allegedly stabbed a central New Jersey woman and stole her car last year has been indicted on attempted murder and carjacking charges.

Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni says 17-year-old Brennan Doyle of Colts Neck also faces weapons charges in the six-count indictment handed up by a county grand jury. It was made public Wednesday.

Gramiccioni had announced in June that the youth would be tried as an adult.

The alleged attack in Colts Neck occurred in July 2013. Authorities say the 41-year-old victim heard a noise outside her home late at night and, when she opened the door to investigate, Doyle allegedly pushed his way inside her home and stabbed her several times.

Doyle then allegedly took her car keys and drove off in her vehicle, which was found in Aberdeen later that day.
