Man dies after raft capsizes in North Platte River near Saratoga

LARAMIE, Wyoming — Authorities say an Albany County man has died after a raft capsized on the North Platte River in Carbon County.

The Laramie Boomerang reports ( ) 70-year-old Stephen Kaisler died Thursday after he and three other people launched the raft at Treasure Island, planning to float to Saratoga.

The Carbon County Sheriff's Department says the raft struck a log jam and flipped. Three people managed to get to an island but Kaisler hung on to the raft and got caught in the logs.

Investigators say his body was found on the shore about three-quarters of a mile downstream.

The three survivors were rescued from the island.
