Police: 2 men in feuding groups found stabbed in Albany; 1 dies from injuries


ALBANY, New York — Police say one man has died and another remains hospitalized after a stabbing in Albany.

The Times Union of Albany reports (http://bit.ly/1QSHGC4 ) police found both a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man suffering from stab wounds on Elberon Place in Albany around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Both men were treated at the scene and then taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where the 19-year-old man was later pronounced dead. The 20-year-old man is being treated for injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Officer Steve Smith says the victims are affiliated with two groups that are feuding, but wouldn't classify the incident as gang activity. He declined to say if the men injured each other.

Police haven't released the identities of the victims pending notification of family.
