State police say Paragould woman, Newport man die in separate crashes in northeastern Arkansas

PARAGOULD, Arkansas — Arkansas State Police say a Paragould woman and a Newport man have been killed in separate auto accidents in northeastern Arkansas.

State police say 33-year-old Jennifer Hill of Paragould died and two children were injured when her car was struck Friday by a pickup truck on Highway 412 in Paragould. Police say Hill was westbound when the driver of the pickup crossed four lanes of traffic and collided with her car.

Police say the pickup driver was not injured.

Troopers say the second fatal crash was Friday afternoon on Highway 69 near Newark when 57-year-old Steven Burris of Newport died when the vehicle he was driving went off the highway, struck a culvert and overturned.
