NORRISTOWN, Pennsylvania — A suburban Philadelphia man has pleaded guilty to shooting two managers at a strip club and later firing at police officers who were trying to take him into custody.
The (Doylestown) Intelligencer (http://bit.ly/14FoQeO ) reports that 56-year-old Joseph Thiers of Warrington pleaded guilty Friday in Montgomery County to four felony charges of aggravated assault.
The paper said the plea was an "open" one, meaning there was no agreement between the prosecution and defense on a sentencing recommendation. Judge Thomas Rogers deferred sentencing pending z substance abuse evaluation and a probation department background report.
Prosecutors said Thiers opened fire in the Double Visions bar in Horsham in October 2013 while more than 20 people were inside, and later fired at pursuing officers before surrendering.
