OMAHA, Nebraska — Officials say they're tracking severe weather in Nebraska, which at one point included snow in one section of the state and thunderstorms in another section.
The National Weather Service says a portion of western Nebraska experienced blizzard-like conditions Wednesday as a large storm system moved through the Midwest region. There were reports of strong winds, rain and hail on the other end of the state.
Rich Thompson, lead forecaster at the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, says officials are investigating reports of a tornado in southeast Nebraska, but it will not be confirmed until a survey team inspects the area.
Winds of up to 45 mph are expected in parts of eastern Nebraska Wednesday afternoon into the evening.
