MANCHESTER, England — Struggling Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao made a surprise appearance for the club's under-21 team on Tuesday.
The two-time Ballon d'Or nominee failed to find the net against Tottenham in his first appearance for United's second string during 72 minutes on the pitch before being substituted.
Falcao has scored just four goals since joining United on loan in September from Monaco, making a permanent deal at the end of the season look less likely.
The 29-year-old Colombian failed to get off the bench on Monday when Arsenal beat United 2-1 in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
