Police: 68-year-old man struck, critically injured in hit-and-run in Massachusetts


BOURNE, Massachusetts — Authorities in Massachusetts say a 68-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash that police believe may have been intentional.

Police say the victim was hit by a car shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday in Bourne. The driver fled the scene.

Bourne Deputy Fire Chief David Pelonzi says crews found the man in the parking lot. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition.

He told police that the car intentionally hit him and then took off.

The victim's identity has not been released.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
