LEXINGTON, Nebraska — A 22-year-old man has been sent to prison for fatally stabbing another Lexington resident.
Navor Millan had pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter after making a deal with prosecutors. Lexington radio station KRVN says (http://bit.ly/1p9MJmj ) Millan was sentenced on Monday in Dawson County District Court. He was given consecutive sentences of 12 to 20 years for manslaughter and two to five years for using a deadly weapon.
Millan was arrested after the Dec. 28 slaying of 21-year-old Douglas Matzar. Police say the incident started when Millan got into a disagreement with some other young men in a parking lot. They all went to a Lexington residence, where the argument turned physical. Police say Millan stabbed Matzar in the face and chest.
