BONNEAU, South Carolina — Authorities are investigating a wreck that killed a father and son when a pickup truck hit the back of a logging truck in Berkeley County.

The wreck happened early Thursday morning on U.S. 17A in the Francis Marion National Forest between Bonneau and Jamestown.

Coroner Bill Salisbury says 64-year-old Larry Dixon and his 39-year old son Vincent, both of Pineville, died in the crash.

Authorities say the log truck was hit from behind as it was stopped for a school bus that was picking up students. Neither the driver of the log truck nor any students were hurt.
