Police: Unidentified Cincinnati man undergoes surgery after possible accidental shooting

CINCINNATI — One man was hospitalized in what police believe to be an accidental shooting in Cincinnati's Walnut Hills section.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports (http://cin.ci/1K7JFBm ) police were called to an apartment on Victory Parkway around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Sgt. Jeff Howell says responding officers found the victim, who wasn't identified, inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach.

The victim was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was still undergoing surgery Tuesday night.

Howell says police detained two men who were also in the apartment for questioning. It's unclear if they will face any charges.

Police are not searching for any suspects at this time. Howell says "it's very possible" the incident was an accidental shooting.
