SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police say two people have died and two children have been critically injured in a head-on collision.

Police say a car driver crossed into oncoming traffic Monday and struck an SUV carrying a family of four. They say the driver of the car and a female passenger in the SUV died at the scene.

The passenger's two daughters, ages 4 and 7, were transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Her husband was hospitalized but wasn't critically injured.

Police don't suspect alcohol contributed to the crash and are investigating.
