HYANNIS, Massachusetts — Truro's former police chief, who resigned in 2011 after crashing a police cruiser while driving drunk, has been arrested in Hyannis after Barnstable police say they found him in his sport-utility vehicle with his child and an open container of alcohol.

The Cape Cod Times reports (http://bit.ly/Vn0FO4) that John Lundborn was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, child endangerment while operating under the influence and operating a motor vehicle with an open container.

In 2011, Lundborn resigned after he was accused of drunken driving and wrecking a new police cruiser. He admitted sufficient facts to driving drunk and was placed on probation for one year.

It wasn't known Friday if he's represented by a lawyer.
