SKOWHEGAN, Maine — A 25-year-old Solon man has been sentenced to spend seven years in prison for sexually molesting a 12-year-old boy.

William Quattrocchi was sentenced Wednesday to serve seven years of a 12-year sentence and also received four years of probation, after pleading guilty to gross sexual assault. He must also register as a sex offender and seek treatment.

Quattrocchi was charged in late December with sexually assaulting the boy. The case had been under investigation since November. Police determined from interviews and computer evidence that Quattrocchi had sexual contact with the 12-year-old boy in 2012.

Prosecutors say a charge of unlawful sexual contact was dismissed.
