ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — A Utah man has been sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison for involuntary manslaughter in New Mexico.

Federal prosecutors say 33-year-old Bradford J. Billy, of West Jordan, was sentenced Thursday in Albuquerque to a 46-month prison term followed by three years of supervised release.

Billy was arrested in December 2014 on a criminal complaint.

Authorities say a passenger in a car Billy was driving died following a crash in New Mexico's San Juan County on Aug. 2, 2014.

Prosecutors say Billy was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the fatal crash.

Billy pleaded guilty in the case in August 2015.
