ONEIDA, New York — A 57-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle collided with an SUV in central New York.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports ( ) that the accident happened Friday afternoon in Oneida.

Police say John Konowich, of Canastota, was riding a motorcycle when a vehicle pulled in front of him and caused him to hit the driver's side of an SUV.

Konowich was thrown from his motorcycle. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
