Henrico County confirms 8th case of rabies for 2015; dog fights infected raccoon

HENRICO, Virginia — Henrico County has confirmed its eighth rabies case for 2015.

Henrico County police Lt. C.J. Eley says a raccoon that fought with a dog on Monday tested positive for the disease.

The dog will be quarantined at its owner's home. Eley says the dog's rabies vaccination is current.

There were no other reports of human or animal exposures to the raccoon.
