LAS VEGAS — Family members say Hall of Fame basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian is home after several days at a Las Vegas hospital for treatment of pneumonia.

Son Danny Tarkanian said Tuesday that his 84-year-old father was released Monday from Valley Hospital Medical Center.

He says medical tests confirmed his father had pneumonia, but cleared him of other ailments.

Tarkanian was hospitalized last Wednesday with respiratory distress.

Tarkanian led three schools to the NCAA tournament, including the 1990 UNLV team that won a national title.
