ST. GABRIEL, Louisiana — Authorities say three workers were taken to a Baton Rouge hospital for evaluation after a chlorine leak at a chemical plant in St. Gabriel.

Officials at the Olin Chlor Alkali Products plant tell WAFB-TV (http://bit.ly/1zrZskX ) that there was a chlorine release from a storage tank Monday morning.

The Iberville Parish Fire Department says there was no off-site impact.

A statement from Olin says the company notified regulatory agencies and neighboring industrial facilities, and will investigate what caused the release.

A representative at Our Lady of the Lake says the hospital cannot release the patients' condition.

According to the company's website, the plant produces chlorine, hydrochloric acid, potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxxide, sodium hypochlorite, and other products.
