ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A 28-year-old man who climbed a fence and escaped Friday from the Anchorage jail has been arrested.

Anchorage television station KTUU (http://bit.ly/1EhdhoZ) reports Kevin Tuckfield was taken into custody after an attempted carjacking on Lake Otis Parkway.

Police in a release say Tuckfield after escaping approached a woman at a car wash, implied he had a gun and tried pushing her into her car.

The woman fought back and screamed, and after a scuffle, was able to flee.

A 16-year-old boy driving a truck heard the woman and followed Tuckfield. Police say the teen helped direct them to a wooded area where Tuckfield was arrested.

Tuckfield had pleaded guilty to sexual assault and robbery in a September 2008 case.

Online court records Sunday say new charges are pending.
