PLEASANT VALLEY, Missouri — Authorities say a man suspected of shooting a Missouri police officer has been taken into custody in Kansas.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a news release that the suspect was arrested Sunday in Kansas City, Kansas, on a federal probation violation warrant and taken to the jail in Wyandotte County.

The patrol says the suspect is being questioned in the shooting of the Pleasant Valley officer. The officer was conducting a traffic stop Saturday night on southbound Interstate 35 when he was wounded. The release didn't list the officer's condition.
