PHOENIX — Phoenix police are searching for a suspect in the shooting of a 42-year-old man inside his home.
Police spokesman James Holmes says James Michael Barratt was found by officers Sunday around 10:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Holmes says Barratt was immediately taken to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.
According to police, it appears that the victim was involved in an altercation at his west Phoenix apartment when he was shot. Barratt made it to a neighbor's home for help before collapsing.
Holmes says detectives currently have little information to go on.
Anyone with information is asked to call police or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
