NETTLETON, Mississippi — State education officials say the Nettleton School District has cleared up deficiencies cited in October when the system was placed on probation.
Officials told the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/11ByopV) that means the school district could have its full accreditation status restored after the Commission on School Accreditation meets on Dec. 4.
The school district has 1,300 students.
The shortcomings were revealed during an unannounced audit by the Mississippi Department of Education in January.
The audit initially found Nettleton to be in violation of 19 standards. They have been corrected.
Auditors last week found Nettleton back in compliance.
