WEST BROMWICH, England — Everton recovered from an unexpectedly poor start to the season with its first Premier League win on Saturday, beating West Bromwich Albion 2-0.
Romelu Lukaku needed less than two minutes to score the first goal at the Hawthorns with a curled right-foot shot from outside the area. Kevin Mirallas doubled the Toffees' lead in the 66th with a low drive.
Everton, which finished fifth last season, has five points — three more than struggling West Brom.
Both clubs have played four games.
