TRENTON, New Jersey — A primary supplier for a heroin ring run by a violent Atlantic City street gang is headed to prison.

Federal prosecutors say Mark Frye received a 13-year sentence on Friday. The 34-year-old Paterson man had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute more than a kilogram of heroin

Prosecutors say Frye and another man ran a sophisticated drug-distribution business based at an apartment complex in Paterson. They supplied heroin to street gang known as the "Dirty Block," which authorities say used threats, intimidation and violence to maintain control of Atlantic City's illegal drug trade.

Frye was arrested by state police in February 2013, after authorities found 200 bricks of heroin — or roughly 10,000 packets — inside the car he was driving.
