Authorities: 3 firefighters injured while responding to blaze on Detroit's east side

DETROIT — Authorities say three firefighters have been injured while responding to a blaze on Detroit's east side.

WWJ-AM at WDIV-TV report seven people and a number of dogs made it out of the home safely following Wednesday morning's fire.

The stations say the firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment of what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

One firefighter reportedly had burns and another suffered from smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
