BALTIMORE — Greg Hankerson passed for a touchdown and rushed for the game-winning score, sending Norfolk State to a 17-10 win over Morgan State on Saturday.
Tied 10-10 in the fourth quarter, Hankerson kept it and went 57 yards to put the Spartans (4-7, 4-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) on top with 8:05 remaining.
Morgan State (4-6, 4-4) punted and turned it over on downs on their next two possessions.
Hankerson finished 15 of 25 for 128 yards and ran for 88 yards on nine carries. He found Isaac White for a 9-yard score out of halftime to give Norfolk State a 10-7 lead.
After a scoreless first quarter, Cameron Marouf's 37-yard field goal put Norfolk State on the board with 11:03 to play in the half. But Moses Skillon found Orlando Johnson for a 12-yard score on the ensuing drive, and Morgan State went to halftime with a 7-3 lead.
