GULFPORT, Mississippi — Prosecutors say a man who had decided to plead guilty in a child pornography case has changed his mind.

The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1luMUHR ) 65-year-old James Allen Myers was scheduled to accept a plea agreement Friday in U.S. District Court, but withdrew his notice.

Chief District Judge Louis Guirola Jr. converted Friday's hearing to a pre-trial conference and set a new trial date for Aug. 4.

Myers was living in Carriere in August 2013 when the Pearl River County Sheriff's Office allegedly found child pornography at his home.

Authorities said he fled from Carriere to avoid arrest.

He was taken into custody near Charleston, South Carolina, in October 2013. A federal grand jury indicted him on seven counts the following month.
