Man servicing water pump drowns in suburban NY lake after falling from canoe

POUND RIDGE, New York — New York state police say a man servicing a water pump on a lake in Westchester County drowned after falling out of his canoe.

They say it happened around 2 p.m. Thursday on the property of a Pound Ridge home.

Police say Alejandro Limon-Garcia, of White Plains, was pulled out of Blue Heron Lake by divers from the Stamford fire department.

They say he tried to grab the canoe but was unsuccessful.

Police say his death appeared to be accidental.
