JACKSON, Mississippi — Sam Owens has been appointed director of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
Owens has served as interim director since February 2014. Public Safety Commissioner Albert Santa Cruz announced the appointment Friday.
Owens began working for MBN in January of 1978. Since then, he has served as an agent, district captain, regional major, director of training, special operations commander and deputy director.
Owens earned his bachelor of administration degree from the University of Alabama.
