RAYMOND, New Hampshire — A man attacked in a home invasion has been identified as the son of a handyman who was killed in a 2005 murder-for-hire plot.

WMUR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1lyM1ja) Jack Reid Jr. says two men wearing ski masks attacked him at his Raymond home on Tuesday. Reid said he was playing a video game online and yelled to a friend on the other end to call police.

Reid's father, Jack Reid of Derry, was beaten to death with a sledgehammer. Prosecutors said John Brooks hired three men to help him kill Reid because Brooks thought Reid had stolen property from him. Brooks is serving a life sentence.

Police said they don't believe the crimes are connected.

Jack Reid Jr. did not return a phone from The Associated Press on Wednesday.
