PHOENIX — Arizona's voter registration numbers are down by nearly 11,500 since the last report in January.

The Secretary of State's Office says the state has more than 3.23 million registered voters as of April 1.

Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan says it's not unusual to see a slight decrease in active voter registration during non-election years.

Her office says 36 percent of current registered voters around Arizona are Republicans, 28 percent are Democrats and 36 percent are independents or have not designated a party preference.

Libertarians and members of the Green party make up a little less than one percent of the state's total registration.

The Americans Elect Party has enrolled 459 voters since joining the state's other recognized political parties in 2011.
