LANSING, Michigan — Authorities are releasing the name of a woman whose body was found in the Grand River in Lansing.

Police say Monday that the body of 44-year-old Roberta Christie of Lansing was spotted Saturday afternoon near the Oakland Avenue bridge. Someone on the Lansing River Trail reported the discovery.

The trail was temporarily closed in the area to the public. Divers recovered the body and the cause of death is under investigation.

Police are seeking witnesses in the case.
