LAUREL, Delaware — Laurel police have charged a Bridgeville man with a sixth DUI after he was stopped for speeding.

Fifty-one-year-old William Terry was stopped Jan. 11 for allegedly driving 78 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, officers said Monday. Officer Christopher Story says Terry refused to submit to field tests to determine if he was under the influence, and a search warrant was obtained to seize Terry's blood for testing.

Authorities say Terry was found to be driving under the influence and did not have the required automobile ignition interlock device.

Story says Terry's DUI convictions date to 1990.
