OXFORD, Mississippi — The city of Oxford is preparing to rezone about 160 acres near the site of the Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi to accommodate the growth that is expected to come with the new $300 million medical center.
A judge recently approved the city's annexation of the property located just south of the new hospital. No structures are on the property.
The Oxford Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/VE9K5l ) a public hearing on the zoning the property is at 5 p.m. July 14 at City Hall.
The land where the new hospital is being built has not yet been annexed into the city.
In 2013, a judge allowed Oxford to annex the land for the hospital. The case is on appeal to the Mississippi Supreme Court. The court has not yet ruled.
