HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas — An Arkansas man whose head-first dive through a Garland County jail window was captured on video has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.

According to a plea agreement, 36-year-old Derrick Estell pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree escape and received an enhanced sentence for four felony convictions dating back to 2000.

Estell's sentence will run concurrently with a 32-year federal sentence he received after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a Hot Springs bank robbery and carjacking in March 2013.

Estell was in Hot Springs for a court appearance when he escaped in July 2013. Surveillance video showed him leaping through a small window in the jail lobby, then sprinting through a parking lot to a waiting car. He was captured in Florida.
