NEW YORK — Police are looking for a man who stabbed a subway passenger as a train pulled into a busy Manhattan station.

It happened around 5 p.m. Sunday at the Union Square stop.

Police say the victim was getting off a No. 6 train when the attacker abruptly slashed him in the upper left thigh.

Officers applied a tourniquet to help control the bleeding. The 31-year-old man is in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital.
