Police say man found lying in Oklahoma City street later dies at hospital

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City police say a man has died after being found lying in a street on the city's northeast side.

Officer Travis Vernier told reporters that officers investigating reports of a disturbance about 1 a.m. Saturday found the man. Vernier says the man had trauma to his body consistent with homicide, but a suspected cause of death has not been released.

The man had not been identified and Vernier said investigators have no suspects.

The slaying would be the 63rd homicide in the city this year, compared to 62 during all of 2014.
