WOONSOCKET, Rhode Island — Authorities say a man accused of shooting four people in Woonsocket has surrendered to police.

Woonsocket police say 19-year-old Zackary Alvarado turned himself in Friday and was charged with four counts of felony assault with a dangerous weapon and other gun crimes. He is scheduled to go before a bail commissioner later in the evening.

Several people called 911 just after 1 a.m. Friday to report shots fired near a bar on River Street. Four people with gunshot wounds were found in a parking lot. Authorities say the victims were brought to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Alvarado's response to the allegations isn't known. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.

Witnesses said there was a dispute in the parking lot and a man opened fire.
