LONDON — Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is facing three months out following surgery on his left ankle.
It is the latest lengthy layoff for the England international, who was injured in Saturday's loss to Manchester United.
Arsenal says the 22-year-old Wilshere underwent surgery on Thursday.
Alongside a picture of himself following the operation, Wilshere wrote on Instagram: "You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to."
