PHOENIX — A Buckeye man is jailed without bond for allegedly molesting a stepdaughter for more than a year.

Buckeye police on Monday arrested 28-year-old Adam Lee Gordy on suspicion of sexual abuse, molestation of a child and aggravated assault on a minor.

According to court documents, the girl told a counselor that Gordy had been molesting her since she was 9 ½ years old.

Police say that during a May 24 phone call, Gordy admitted to inappropriately touching the girl and then cut his wrists and throat in a suicide attempt.

They say Gordy underwent psychological evaluations and was booked into jail after being released from a hospital.

He didn't have a lawyer at his initial court appearance Tuesday.
