Motorcyclist dies of injuries received in 3-vehicle crash in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Delaware — Delaware State Police say a man who was injured in a three-vehicle crash in Wilmington has died.

Troopers say 19-year-old Dylan Desmond of Wilmington died Sunday at Christiana Hospital, where he was taken after the Aug. 26 crash.

Police say Desmond and 19-year-old Joshua Cortes of Claymont were operating separate motorcycles on Grubb Road when each hit the same SUV.

Investigators say Desmond was thrown into a ditch, and Cortes' motorcycle slid more than 100 feet. The fuel tank on Desmond's motorcycle ruptured.

Officers say the SUV, driven by 38-year-old Jennifer Ramsey of Bear, became engulfed in flames.

Ramsey and her 4-year-old son, who was a passenger in the SUV, were taken to Christiana Hospital. Troopers say Cortes refused treatment.

Ramsey and Cortes were cited for traffic violations.
