WEST CHESTER, Ohio — AK Steel Holding Corp. (AKS) on Tuesday reported third-quarter net income of $6.7 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The West Chester, Ohio-based company said it had net income of 4 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 6 cents per share.
The steel producer posted revenue of $1.71 billion in the period.
The company's shares closed at $2.34. A year ago, they were trading at $7.12.
