HONESDALE, Pennsylvania — A pilot is recovering after the single-propeller plane he was trying to land in northeastern Pennsylvania crashed into a swampy area near the runway.

Authorities say wind picked up as the man was trying to land at the Cherry Ridge Airport near Honesdale around noon Monday. The wind interfered and the plane landed upside down.

State Police Trooper Carl Szymanski tells the Scranton Times-Tribune the pilot was helped out of the plane, but was walking. The man suffered minor injuries. There weren't any passengers.

Authorities didn't identify the pilot.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
