AUSTIN, Texas — Republican Gov. Greg Abbott had more than $22 million on hand in campaign cash at the end of his first year in office.

The group Texans for Greg Abbott on Friday announced he's raised more than $7 million in the July through December period.

Abbott, who serves a four-year term, raised about $15 million from more than 11,300 donations between June 22 and Dec. 31.

Abbott has continued to aggressively raise money even after his landslide November 2014 election, for which he raised about $47 million.
